Only juniors and seniors are eligible for the trip. Absences will not count against their exemptions. 
**This is the only trip that is endorsed by Katy ISD.

Cost of the trip - $2,770.00 includes food, flight, charter busses in DC, entry fees, security, program materials, and hotel.

All payments can be made on-line, in installments of your choosing.

If your student will be going, e-mail myself or Mr. Stone so we can get them the login ID and password for the system, or they can stop by classroom 1612 for more information or to sign up.

Other expenses:
-Baggage fees at the airport for 1 checked bag there and back
-Extra snacks
-Souvenirs. 
**Parents are responsible for transportation to and from the airport in Houston.**

We will not know exact flight and hotel plans until middle of December.  In the past we have always flown non stop on Continental/United Airlines.  The hotels that we stay in are 4 and 5 star hotels.

This is a very educational trip.  Students will see and learn about our governments and our country’s past, present, and future.  This includes visiting and learning about different monuments and memorials, meeting with area representatives and discussing topics, debating other groups of students on current issues, visiting museums, and meeting students from all across the United States just to name a few. All hotels have night security and monitors on all halls and a health professional on duty.  The students will be busy the whole time that they are in the city and 99 percent of them in the past have enjoyed it so much that they do not want to come home. 

Close Up is a non-profit organization and donations may be tax deductible.  I will have form letters that you can send out in order to try and get donations.  Students in the past raise $100.00 to over $2,000.00 for their trip. If you work, or know someone that works for a large corporation check to see if they have any non-profit employee matching programs.
