Hey Kiddos,
Ok so obviously this is not a perfect circumstance, far from it, considering that the AP Exam is breathing down our necks exactly two weeks from this coming Friday. There is a lot that is going to need to happen. Sadly we can not treat this time as vacation time and we are going to need to accomplish three weeks worth of work in two weeks. We must do everything necessary to catch up, complete content, and do as much review as is possible so that we are prepared for the APUSH Exam on the 6th. To those of you that have taken the initiative and used the past couple of "off days" to further yourself and study for your AP Exams I commend you!
Earlier in the week I posted a power point in period 8 that is an overview of the 1970s, as well as videos of the presidents.
These are no longer recommended view/study material between now and when I see you it is mandatory.
View the power point and complete that portion of your period 8 study guide by taking notes in the blank spaces.
On the back side of your study guides or on a separate piece of paper while you are viewing the 45 min. presidential videos of President Eisenhower through Ford you need to take notes. These notes should contain two categories, domestic issues and international issues.
In addition, when I see you on Monday you will write your long essay. Considering the situation that we have been presented with I have provided you with the potential prompts for the Period 8 long essay ahead of time. They are in a power point below. You should have an adequate amount of time to review and prepare your long essay. The rubric is under the long essay portion of the website.
Period 9 will be short, the overview reading and study guide are already online with a DETAILED PowerPoint. I have also uploaded Crash Course videos that go along with the various time periods for further review.
The AP Exam Review tab is totally updated with everything except the Religion Theme Sheet. Make sure you have started working on the Native American theme sheet (it was suppose to be due this Friday so hopefully you have all started working on it) You should be reviewing all the items under this tab, it's an absolute MUST for success on the AP Exam.
100% Take and 100% Pass
I will put together a schedule that I will post here within the next 24 hours that contains various due dates, test dates, ect.
There is much that we will have to do when I see you next week. We can't change the events that have taken place with the weather we just now have to make the best of the situation and turn lemons into lemonade. There is a lot of personal responsibility that has been placed on you to take care of your scholastic duties this week. So often we feel like we never have enough time in the day. Well... we all got our wishes answered and we have more time on our hands than we know what to do with, take advantage of it.
I hope that everyone of you and your families are safe, and dry. I can't wait to see you all on Monday. Please if you have questions email me, or Remind 101 chat me.
Have a wonderful and productive LOOOOONG weekend.
